2nd Grade enjoyed listening to the story, Anansi the Spider. Paying close attention to Gerald McDermott's great illustrations including various line designs, shapes and patterns, students drew a spider web.We discussed what kinds of line you would draw that would "describe" a spider web, and how you can create different "weights" of line by using a thicker line.
One class had enough time to piece together basic geometric shapes for a spider on their web. These turned out lovely :)
