This is a great opportunity to go outside on a "scavenger hunt" with your class and collect small and large leaves. Using their collections, students used foam brushes to paint tempura on the bottom of their leaves (to ensure the textures, veins and shape of the leaves are printed). After painting, turn the leaf over onto the paper and press gently, making sure to press evenly, all over and the outermost edges of the leaf. Slowly lift the leaf and repeat, if desired. This is was one of my favorite projects to do at the summer camp.
