Pacific Northwestern Totem Poles

The Totem Pole project marks the first day of our World Art Club at the Ladera Recreation District.

We learned that totem poles can symbolize the characters and events in mythology, or convey the experiences of recent ancestors and living people and animals. Each child, then, brain stormed what they would like to represent on their Totem pole - family stories, people, their pets, what represents their home and their story!
We drew with pencil, then colored with oil pastel, and cut out, finally glued to wrapping paper cardboard tubes. Lots of fun!
