Art Club explores the massive, colorful Chinese Dragon of the New Year Parade with these fantastic puppets!
Big hit with the kids! We started making the body by folding 2 sets of 2, 12" strips of their choice together. We then folded the strips, called a "cat fold" according to the students :). Some drew scales on the strips.
We drew the head and tail of our dragons on 2 separate pieces of paper, and colored them with amrker. We were getting inspiration from illustrations of Chinese Dragons on handouts I brought to class. Last week we had some practice!
Then we cut them out, glued smaller strips behind the head and tail, and I hot glued their popsicle sticks on for them! Super fun!! (My example below :)
