Contour Seashells

3rd grade's contour was fun because everyone loves seashells.

We drew one shell on 3 different colored paper, first by drawing the outline contour of each shell. We then added the interior contours as best we could, and traced everything over with sharpie.

We cut and pasted onto a line drawing of students' perceptions of an ocean. I like the aesthetic of this lesson, and how the often challenging contours of shells can be frustrating, but this is the perfect opportunity for learning.
