An invention of mine (well, probably not) was to cut colored, white and black construction paper into 4x4" squares. Each day, the students would decorate a "quilt square" given a different medium or theme. Some options for decorating your quilt square could be felt tip markers, stamps, tissue paper and glue, chalk pastel on black paper (African style textiles), oil pastel, and watercolor. As time passes the accumulation of quilt squares creates a beautiful mural celebrating collaboration and community. Below are 2 separate quilt walls.
