I would recommend this fun collage and painted paper project for any grade. Using inspiration from the book by Eric Carle, "Mixed-Up Chameleon", students used magazine cut outs from National Geographic magazine to make their own multi-animal. The background can be made from pieces of unused painted paper scraps, or even have the students create the animal's "environment" prior to collaging.
